Why most brand shoots do not work
You end up with a hundred nice pictures and nowhere to put them.
Look at how photographers in this market describe what they sell. Capturing moments. Documenting seasons. Capturing love and life. Four different businesses, one sentence.
Every one of them is selling what the photos are of. Not one of them tells you what happens during the session, and that is the only part that decides whether you can actually use what you get.
So here is how it usually goes. You book a shoot. It is a lovely afternoon. Two weeks later a folder arrives with a hundred images in it, named by timestamp. You open it to build your homepage and nothing is the right shape: no room for a headline, nothing horizontal, no frame for the third step of your process, nothing that works small enough for a profile circle. Six weeks later you are still running a stock photo on your own website.
The photos were not the problem. Nobody decided what they were for.
Here's what you get
A shot map, a directed day, and a library sorted by where it goes.
Before your shoot day you get a shot map: a numbered list of every frame we are going to make, and next to each one, the exact place it is going to live.
Your homepage hero, shot wide with deliberate empty space on one side so a headline can sit in it. The about-page frame, which is the image people look at while deciding whether to trust you, so we shoot it twice: once warm, once serious. A frame for each step of your process. The credential shot that has to hold up next to other people's headshots. Hands and details, because those become your section dividers and they never date.
You approve the map before the day. Then the day is execution, not exploration.

A real one
What a shot map actually looks like.
An excerpt from a recent brand shoot. Thirty-nine frames, each one assigned to a destination before the shoot day. Every image had somewhere to go the day it landed.
Yours will be built against your pages, not these.
Ashley and Chris on a shoot day
Who is behind the camera
Salinas & Co.
Ashley and Chris Salinas. We have shot together for years, on client brands and on our own.
The division is simple and it is why this works. We style the pieces and set the tone. They make it look the way it should have looked all along. Two people on set means one person can direct while the other shoots, which is the difference between a photo of you and a photo that does a job.

Kits that include brand photography
Or fold it into the whole brand.
Photography works hardest when it is shot for a brand that already exists, which is why most people take one of these instead.
The Full Brand Build
$8,000 from
Your identity built first, then photographed for it. The shot map gets drawn against the brand we just made, by the person who made it. Website available as an add-on.
The Comprehensive Brand
$20,000 from
Identity, website, and photography across two seasons so the library does not date. For businesses with more than one offer to hold together.
Full scope and deliverables for each kit come in your proposal. Texas sales tax added at invoice.

This is for you if
- You are using stock photos, or phone photos, on a website you charge premium prices from
- You have a brand already, or you are building one with us
- You can name the pages the images are for
- You are willing to be directed on the day rather than left to pose
- You want a library you can run for a year, not a headshot
It is not for you if
- You want family portraits or a personal session. Salinas & Co takes those directly, and this is not that
- You want a photographer to turn up and see what happens. The map is the product
- You need the images next week. Good ones are planned
- You do not have a brand yet and do not want one. Photography will not fix that, and we would rather tell you now
- You want to pick your own shots from a hundred raw frames. We cull against the map on purpose
Frequently asked questions
Before you book.
How long until I get the images?
Twenty-one business days from the shoot day. That window is firm, because the edit is where the colour grading and the destination culling happen, and rushing it is how you end up with a folder nobody sorted. If you have a launch date, tell us before you book and we will count backwards from it.
Do I have to be in the photos?
Usually yes, and usually more than you expect. The frame people look at while deciding whether to trust you is a photo of your face. If your business genuinely does not need you in it, say so on the strategy call and we will build the map around product, process and space instead.
I am terrible in front of a camera.
Everyone says this, and it is the reason the day is directed. You are told where to stand, what to do with your hands, and what to look at. The best frames on most shoots come from asking you to actually explain something you know, rather than asking you to smile.
Who owns the images?
You do, for your own business, in perpetuity, once the invoice is paid in full. Brookey Design Co. and Salinas & Co. both keep the right to show the work in our portfolios and marketing.
Can I use them for paid ads?
Yes. The licence covers your own business across web, print, social and paid media. It does not cover reselling the images or licensing them on to someone else.
What if it rains?
If the day is unshootable we move it, at no charge, to the next date that works for all three of us. That is the only free reschedule.
Do you do video?
Not inside a photography scope. If you want vertical video, ask before you book so it goes in the proposal as its own line with its own hour on the day. A video block bolted on at the last minute takes time from the stills you are paying for.
Can I add a shoot to a brand project I already started?
Yes, and this is the most common way it happens. Once your direction is locked we can build the shot map against it. Added later it is the standalone price, so if you already know you want both, the Full Brand Build is the cheaper route.
What about models, hair and makeup?
Not in scope, and deliberately. If your shoot needs other people in frame you source and pay them, and we will tell you on the strategy call exactly how many and what kind. Same for hair and makeup. We will recommend people, you book them.
Where do the shoots happen?
Abilene and the surrounding area as standard. Your own space is usually best, because it is the space your clients will be in. Anything further out gets travel quoted in the proposal.

Tell us what your pages are missing. We will tell you what it takes to fill them, and what it costs, before you commit to anything.
